Quality Management Systems


ICON's QA department consists of separate clinical QA, system compliance and document control units, which are positioned globally to support each office/region. The QA department is an independent function reporting directly to the CEO.

Our Quality Management System is ISO 9001 registered. We were the first CRO to achieve ISO registration in 1994 and remain the only CRO to have implemented this as standard across all offices and functions.

Key components of the ISO 9001 standard are clearly defined systems, performance measurement and continuous improvement. In addition, ICON Central Laboratories are CAP (College of American Pathology) and ISO 17025 accredited.
