Tom was appointed President of ICON Central Laboratories in January 2010. Prior to this he held the position of Global Head of Data Management at ICON Clinical Research. He joined the company in Feb-2001 as Manager of Data management in Dublin. He subsequently went on to set-up ICON's process improvement initiative "IMPROVE" and returned to Data Management to become EU VP of Data Management before becoming Global Head of Data Management in 2006.
From 1994-2001 he worked for SmithKline Beecham and later GlaxoSmithKline and held positions in Data Management, Project Management and resource Management. He is a graduate of Kingston University in Surrey and a Member of the Royal Society of Chemistry. He holds a Degree in Medicinal Chemistry and a Masters in Data Management.
Responsibilities include the review of incoming protocols and performing risk assessment, interaction with clients regarding protocols and upcoming studies and notifying them of new technologies and assays available in the lab.
Peter received his MS in Medical Technology from St. John’s University, Jamaica NY where he also completed his BS degree. He has been on staff at ICON Laboratories since 1997 where he served as Director of the Infectious Disease Laboratory and Vice President of Global Laboratory Operations until his appointment to his current position in February, 2010.
Prior to joining ICON Laboratories, Mr. Colaninno served as Assistant Supervisor of the Bacteriology Laboratory at Mary Immaculate Hospital and Assistant Divisional Supervisor for the Mary Immaculate Hospital Division of Catholic Medical Center of Brooklyn and Queens. His academic appointments include Adjunct Professorships in the Physician’s Assistant Program at Hofstra University, where he was awarded the Faculty Member of the Year Award for five straight years, the Department of Biology at SUNY, Farmingdale, NY, and the College of Allied Health Professions at St. John’s University, where he was recipient of the Alumni Mentor Recognition Award. He has authored or co-authored 30 professional abstracts and publications and been a presenter at numerous professional conferences and continuing education seminars as well as serving on various Review Boards and Advisory Councils.
Mr. Colaninno holds a New York State Clinical Laboratory Technologists license. In addition, he is board certified as a Medical Technologist and a Specialist in Microbiology by the American Society of Clinical Pathologists and is also certified by the National Certification Agency for Medical Laboratory Personnel.
ICON Central Laboratories (ICL) is pleased to announce the appointment of Dr. Samuel Reichberg to the position of Medical Director, ICON Central Laboratories, effective 1 July 2009. In his new role, Dr. Reichberg will assume responsibility for ICL’s U.S. laboratory operations as well as Medical & Scientific Affairs. He will also be the director of record for ICL’s NY State license and its College of American Pathologists (CAP) accreditation for both the New York and Dublin facilities.
Dr. Reichberg joins ICL from Lenox Hill Hospital where he was Chief of Clinical Pathology and Director of the Clinical Laboratory. His career includes extensive experience in both commercial and hospital laboratory operations.
Dr. Reichberg completed his residency in Clinical Pathology and fellowships in Human Genetics and in Endocrinology and Metabolism at Yale-New Haven Hospital. In addition, he holds a PhD degree in Molecular Biophysics and Biochemistry from Yale. Dr. Reichberg is a Fellow of the College of American Pathologists and also serves as a CAP Inspector.
Denise joined ICON Central Laboratories in her current position in February 2005 from Sepracor, Inc. where she held the position of Senior Director of Clinical Operations, Central Services. She has served as Manager of Clinical Affairs for Medical and Technical Research Associates (MTRA), Clinical Research Project Manager for LifeScan, Inc., Manager of Product Development for Abaxis, Inc., and Research Scientist for Technicon Instruments Corporation and Baker Instruments Corporation.
In addition to her clinical development experience, Ms. Legenzoff has extensive clinical laboratory experience that includes serving as Supervisor at MetroHealth Medical Center in Cleveland, OH and Instructor and Education Coordinator for the Medical Technology schools at the University of Maryland and Catholic University in Washington, DC. She holds a BS degree in Medical Technology from Gannon University in Erie, PA and a MA degree in Curriculum and Instruction from West Virginia University in Morgantown, WV. She is also MT (ASCP) certified.
James joined ICON Laboratories, Inc. (ICON) in 1996 and held several financial and management positions in the company prior to being named Vice President of Finance and Administration in 2004.
Prior to joining ICON Mr. Meringolo was a Senior Financial Analyst in the Financial Reporting Department at Barnes & Noble, Inc. in Westbury, New York and a Senior Accountant with Eisner LLP in New York, New York. Mr. Meringolo holds a BA degree in public accounting from Pace University in New York, New York.
John has been with ICON Central Laboratories and its predecessor company, UCT International, since 1994. Prior to being named to his current position, he served as MIS Operations Manager, Director and Assist Vice President of IT Operations and Data Management for the company.
Prior to joining ICON, Mr. Reinert was a Partner for the computer consulting company, WorkTime Industries, and General Operations Manager for Microforce, Inc.
Mr. Reinert holds a BS from Dowling College and multiple certifications in IT systems applications.
James has been with ICON Central Laboratories and its predecessor company, UCTI, since 1993. In addition to his current position, he has served as Director of Quality Assurance, Quality Assurance Manager and Project Manager with the company.
Prior to his tenure with ICON, Mr. Wagner was a principal owner and held the position of Laboratory Operations Manager at Acculab in Deer Park NY. He holds a MS degree in Medical Technology from the CW Post Center of Long Island University and a BS in Clinical Chemistry from NY Institute of Technology.
He is ASCP Certified and has been designated as a Certified Quality Auditor by the American Society of Quality.
Clare has served as General Manager for ICON Central Laboratories’ European facility in Dublin, Ireland since early 2006, having previously held positions with ICON as Laboratory Manager and Quality Assurance Manager.
Prior to her experience at ICON Central Laboratories, Ms. O’Sullivan was employed by Quintiles and Tibotec-Virco, a division of Johnson & Johnson where she was involved in data management, quality assurance and regulatory compliance. Ms. O’Sullivan has a BSc and MSC in Microbiology from University College, Cork, Ireland.
Melissa has been with ICON Central Laboratories since 2001. She previously served as the company’s IT Compliance Officer and Manager and Director of the IT Systems Validation and Regulatory Compliance Department.
Prior to joining ICON, Ms. Vozza served as a Special Consultant and Manager of Quality Assurance for Mediware Information Systems in Melville, New York. She holds a BS in Medical Laboratory Science from the University of Massachusetts at Dartmouth, an Advanced Graduate Certificate in Regulatory Affairs from San Diego State University and is completing a Masters of Science degree in Regulatory Affairs from Northeastern University. She also successfully completed graduate requirements in Biomedical Science. Ms. Vozza is NCA certified as a Clinical Laboratory Scientist and holds NY State License as a Medical Technologist.
Dr. Rajput was appointed General Manager, ICON Central Laboratories, India, in May 2008. In this role she will be responsible for establishing and developing ICON’s central laboratory services in India and for managing the daily operations and outputs of the laboratory.
Prior to joining ICON Central Laboratories, Dr. Rajput spent eight years with Clinigene International, where she held the position of General Manager and Laboratory Director. Before joining Clinigene, she gained valuable experience in clinical laboratory operations through working in the laboratories of various tertiary care hospitals in Bangalore. Dr. Rajput has proven successful expertise in business development, logistics, quality assurance processes and HR management. Dr. Rajput has a PhD in Biochemistry and is a certified CAP inspector.
Nee Ping Tan was appointed to her current position as Director of the Singapore Laboratory in April, 2009, having previously held the position of Associate Director since January of 2007.
Nee Ping began her career in the pharmaceutical industry in 1993 as a Nurse working at Singapore General Hospital. From there, she moved to Novo Nordisk (Asia Pacific) as a Clinical Trial Assistant, followed by a position at Covance (Asia) as a Clinical Research Associate. In 2002, Nee Ping became a Clinical Research Manager for Gleneagles CRC Pte Ltd. In March of 2004 she assumed the position of Associate Director of Clinical Operations at ICON Clinical Research, with the responsibility of overseeing the clinical operations team in Asia (covering Singapore, Thailand, Philippines, Hong Kong, Taiwan, South Korea, China and India).
In 2007, when ICON Central Laboratories announced the opening of its Singapore facility, Nee Ping was appointed Associate Director, overseeing daily operations of the laboratory and ensuring effective operation of the laboratory, responsible for managing staff and laboratory resources.
Maria Telesca was appointed as Director of Human Resources for ICON Central Laboratories in June, 2010. She comes to ICON with 20 years of industry experience, including extensive knowledge of employee relations, benefits and compensation, and training and development. Maria has spearheaded many laboratory acquisitions, including SmithKline Beecham Laboratories in 1999. She led and participated in numerous process improvement teams and is Green Belt certified.
Prior to joining ICON Central Laboratories, Maria worked as Director of Human Resources for Allied North America and Quest Diagnostics. She holds a Bachelor of Science degree in organizational management from St. Joseph’s College in Patchogue, New York.
